Most websites have errors in them and it’s nothing to be ashamed of, as long as you can rectify them quickly. What you must do though is write your own custom 404 page so that when a user finds a problem they are greeted by a personal message with your theme and styling. This looks professional and enables the user to let you know about the error so you can fix it. It’s also a good idea to offer a search facility and a link to your site map.
