You do not need to have Google Analytics installed on your website to use this service.

But it helps if you do!

Using the Google Analytics API

Since the nice fellas at Google released an API into Google Analytics earlier this year, we have been working on a way to use a daily feed of data from Google Analytics to fuel our SEO Tools and your SEO Campaign.

Let’s explain how it works and the advantages of integrating Google Analytics into our SEO tools on an ongoing basis.

We believe that website owners will rank better in search engines and get more visitors that convert into customers if they build better, more user friendly websites first; and search engine friendly websites second.

Analytics SEO aims to make this process as easy as possible, even if you are not very technically minded.  Google Analytics is a useful ally in helping us achieve this goal.

Creating A Continuous SEO Process

Google Analytics provides an unbelievable amount of useful data about how users find your site and their behaviour once they get there.  With the Analytics SEO suite of online SEO tools we have not tried to replicate what Google Analytics does so well; we have just tried to use data from Google Analytics to help drive an ongoing SEO process.

We believe users and search engines like sites that have great content and tools, and that are updated regularly.  As your competitors do not stand still, and nor do the search engines, nor should you.  We believe that effective SEO starts with a commitment to manage your website and SEO efforts continuously.  This doesn’t mean 24 hours a day, every day of the year; but it might mean having the means at your disposal to check your site’s performance vis-à-vis the competition regularly and to take remedial action where necessary.

Advantages of Linking Google Analytics to Analytics SEO

With a daily feed of statistics and data about user behaviour, keywords and pages; we can continuously monitor and rank how your site compares to your competitors.  This gives you unparalleled insight into how much time, effort and money you need to invest into your website and SEO efforts to compete effectively and grow your business online.

By having a clear overview of the ever changing competitive marketplace you can react faster and more effectively than your competitors, giving you a key competitive advantage.  For example; as your website starts to attract visitors from organic search engine results listings, your number of keywords will change, as will the number of visits each keyword is generating.

Analytics SEO tracks these changes and automatically checks the potential of these keywords for you, to identify potential areas of opportunity. It also tracks which keywords are bringing you less traffic and rank worse than at the start of your SEO Campaign; and allows you to take remedial action where necessary.

Confidential Data Feed

The data from Google Analytics is fed confidentially into our system and can only be seen by your team and our team.  We will never share or re-publish this information without your express permission in writing.

Sharing Anonymised SEO Data

One beautiful and exciting aspect of having hundreds or thousands of websites using AnalyticsSEO with Google Analytics to manage their SEO Campaigns, is that over time we will be doing some anonymised data mining to try and statistically measure which SEO efforts produce the best or fastest results, e.g. Does buying a listing on the Yahoo Directory increase rankings and traffic from only Yahoo, or from all search engines; and if so, over what time period.

By agreeing to share your data anonymously, you can directly benefit from our research in this area.

We will never share any confidential data with any third party without your express written permission, and we will only use this data to help us make more effective recommendations and SEO Tools to help you rank higher in the search engines.

You can opt-in or opt-out of data sharing at anytime.  To be fair to everyone, only customers who have opted in to data sharing may get access to any insights that analysing this anonymous shared data brings.

Other Website Analytics Tools

We understand that Google Analytics is not the only tool out there to analyse your website visitors and performance.

Although, we think Google Analytics is cool, we are not wedded to it.  For that reason, if demand calls for it (or another software analytics vendor pays for it) then we will look at adding support for other website analysis software packages.
